You’re going to be learning tons at the SC Speech and Hearing Association conference this February! But, we know you are already thinking about lunch.

Don’t worry. Your friends at MTSKids have got you covered. We’re going to be sharing columns and social media tips for how you can make sure you’re having a blast while you’re visiting Greenville, S.C.

This week: The places you need to have lunch. When you exit the Hyatt conference center, you will see a landscape of closed businesses, a subway sandwich shop and a few bars. Don’t be alarmed. Take a left to head down Main Street. Here are five places within walking distance that will meet your local lunch cravings.

Bertolo’s

Close by, convenient and comfortable, this family restaurant serves pizza and italian basics in old-school digs. With a pizza slice and side salad costing around $6, this is a great option for staying within your conference budget or grabbing something quick. Because of its location to the Hyatt, you may run into a lunch-rush crowd. Remember, you can grab it to go and sit back at the green outdoor tables near the hotel. Check out the menu, here.

Tropical Grille

A short 5-minute walk from the hotel and right off Main Street, Tropical Grille was born from a desire to bring favorite childhood recipes from the owners Cuban heritage and prepare them using fresh local ingredients. Their goal is to be fast, healthy and affordable. The white sauce they use really makes the meal! Any dish is good, but if you are stuck, try the Chicken Fresco. Visit Tropical Grille’s menu here to start making plans.

Caviar & Bananas

Beginning as a restaurant concept in Charleston, this beloved eatery has found its way to 1 North Laurens Street, Greenville, S.C. right off Main Street, here. This casual, yet classy cafe is a great spot for a salad, coffee or sandwich. Walk up to the counter and drool over the decadent desserts. Feeling rushed between courses? You can order online here and have your lunch ready and waiting for you.

Barley’s Taproom

Good for lunch or dinner, Barley’s Taproom has a vast menu to please you and your friends. With a dine-in lunch special for $8.50 this local restaurant is another great option for lunch. In a rush? Order online, here and have your sandwich, slice and salad waiting for you. Check out the menu, here. It is across the street from Caviar + Bananas, here.

Trio: A Brick Oven Cafe

With a lunch menu full of soups, salads and sandwiches, this eatery is sure to be a big hit! Trio is located off Main Street on the corner, here. Each lunch item is served with your choice of pasta salad, sweet potato fries or the soup of the day. Take a moment to enjoy the company of your fellow conference goers by dining in or order online, here. Check out their full lunch only menu, here.
