You will be learning tons at the South Carolina Speech and Hearing Convention this February! After a long day, grab your team and friends and explore all Cheraleston has to offer.

Not sure where to start? Don’t worry. Your friends at MTSKids and our parent company, Cicero Therapies have got you covered. We’re going to be sharing columns and social media tips for how you can make sure you’re having a blast while you’re visiting Charleston.

This week: Places to see and shop. There are spots close to the Embassy Suites in North Charleston to try, but some of the best places are a little drive away in the peninsula of downtown.

Enjoy the amazing selections, from our very own Sarah Emory, Executive Director of MTSKids.

It’s almost time for SCSHA in of my favorite cities, Charleston! What better way to see and shop than with your speech team. Enjoy these suggestions!

Places to see:

My grandparents lived in Charleston my entire life, so going back always brings me a sense of calm. Nothing beats a walk around the Battery or Colonial Lake. My new favorite, especially if your children are tagging along to Charleston, is Hampton Park. It is a green oasis in the middle of Wagener Terrace with plenty of places to ride scooters, picnic, and even a playground. If you are willing a venture a little further out, Mt. Pleasant Pier is a fun family adventure with a restaurant on site.

Places to shop:

Confession, I am not much of a shopper, but Charleston is an exception to the rule. King Street is an incredible spot where you can find big name retailers like M. Dumas, Lululemon, Pink Chicken, and Anthropologie. I also like the smaller shops on Upper King, like The Tiny Tassel.

Very close to the convention is a great selection of outlet shops at Tanger Outlets. Also not to missed is the beautiful outdoor shopping experience just over the Mark Clark in Mt Pleasant at Mount Pleasant Towne Centre.

I can’t wait to visit the Holy City! And when you see me (proudly sporting my SCSHA badge), with the team here at MTSKids/Cicero Therapies, please do say hello! Let us know how we did! Stop by our booth and tell us about your meal. We have a gift for you for sharing your experience!

Love,

Sarah
