You will be learning tons at the South Carolina Speech and Hearing Convention this February! After a long day, grab your team and friends and explore all Charleston has to offer.

Not sure where to start? Don’t worry. Your friends at MTSKids and our parent company, Cicero Therapies have got you covered. We’re going to be sharing columns and social media tips for how you can make sure you’re having a blast while you’re visiting Charleston.

This week: Places to chill after-hours. There are spots close to the Embassy Suites in North Charleston to try, but some of the best places are a little drive away in the peninsula of downtown.

Enjoy the amazing selections, from our very own Sarah Emory, Executive Director of MTSKids.

It’s almost time for SCSHA in of my favorite cities, Charleston! What better place to connect and relax with your team after hours with some live music and a great atmosphere. Enjoy these suggestions!

Fatty’s Beer Works: Fatty’s Beer Works in a downtown Charleston brewery with good beer and a laid back vibe. Usually there is live music and some of the best food trucks around. Check their calendar to see who will be there February 1-3.

Royal American – If you are looking for not-so-fancy (aka dive), locals-only spot, this is it! Located in the Ole Charleston Forge Building in the Upper Penisula, you can find quality food, drink and live music.

Edmunds Oast Brewery – Is a great spot, especially if the weather is nice for February. It is an open concept brewery on Upper King with seating options on the patio, courtyard, and astroturf field. Edmunds Oast is one of my personal favorites.

Island Cabana Bar – If you are looking for a view of the bridge and the water, then the Island Cabana Bar is the perfect place. It’s actually not on an island, but don’t let that get in your way of enjoying the island vibes at this waterfront oasis! FInd this great spot in the historic Seabreeze Marina at the foot of the Ravenel Bridge in Downtown Charleston.

Last Saint – At Last Saint, you will see regulars from the surrounding yoga and cycle bars. It is a cozy lounge feel on Charleston’s east side. Open from 5pm-2am, it is a great spot for night owls.

Frannie and the Fox – Looking for a swanky, mid-century vibe? Frannie and the Fox is the MOST beautiful and attached to the fabulous Emeline Hotel in the historic district of Charleston. Stunning. Chill by the fireplace and relax after a long day of learning.

I can’t wait to visit the Holy City! And when you see me (proudly sporting my SCSHA badge), with the team here at MTSKids/Cicero Therapies, please do say hello! Let us know how we did! Stop by our booth and tell us about your meal. We have a gift for you for sharing your experience!

Love,

Sarah
