Samantha joined the team at McCulloh Therapeutic Solutions almost one year ago for her Clinical Fellowship Year. After spending the past year in graduate school the middle of a pandemic, Samantha was worried about what working in the field would be like. Samantha shares her CF experience here:
“As a recently graduated SLP, choosing a company to complete your clinical fellowship year can be nerve-racking and fairly overwhelming. Every new SLP wants to find a company where you are supported and encouraged to grow as you are becoming the best therapist you can be in order to best serve your patients. For me, it was no different. I was completing my final semester of graduate school at the University of South Carolina in the middle of a pandemic year where companies were shutting down and there were a lot of unknown factors. This made looking for a job to complete my CFY especially stressful. I thought and prayed a lot about being led to a company where I could find mentors and a supportive community to foster growth. After researching various private practices in the Greenville area, I began the application and interview process at McCulloh Therapeutic Solutions. Having left my first interview, I told my parents and husband that, if given the opportunity, I knew MTS was a company I wanted to be a part of.
Even before my official start day at MTS, I was offered support and guidance throughout the onboarding process and initiation of my CFY. I was offered a position at the Greenville clinic and was assigned my supervisor, Sara Fulton. While completing your CFY, your supervisor is there to guide you and offer assistance, but Sara offered much more than that for me. She was not only someone who I could always count on to be available when I needed her (even if that meant moving her own schedule around) or someone who would always listen and offer assistance with patients and work-related tasks but someone who genuinely cared about how I was doing in all aspects of my life. Outside of my supervisor, the whole team at MTS has created a welcoming and open environment that has allowed for me to grow tremendously throughout the past year, both professionally and personally. Accepting a position at MTS Kids has been the best decision I could have made for my career and I am excited to be able to continue to grow as a part of the team at MTS.”
Samantha, we love having you on our team! Thank you for making a difference for the next generation!
