It’s fall, y’all! The weather in the South has cooled down a bit and it’s a great time to get outside and enjoy learning!
Gardening is a great idea for building language and adding in a sensory component. Our family loaded up and headed to the local greenhouse.
We named the different colors, shapes, and sizes of flowers. We made decisions on which flowers to get (please keep in mind, I let my children lead with which flowers to give, so I gave up control). We did some heavy lifting and loaded them into the wagon and loaded them into the car.
Once we got home, we put on our gardening gloves (optional but suggested) and started digging the dirt.
Digging with gloves provides a whole different sensory experience than digging with gloves off. Try it both ways and see what your children think!
We watered our plants as the last step and now we get to enjoy them and pick the flowers!
