Learning Auditory Processing skills can be such an intimidating task that parents and SLPs may avoid it all together. But the truth is, Auditory Processing can be so FUN!
A great way to incorporate AP skills into your child’s day-to-day play is through singing! This is going way old school, but every preschool teacher knows some of the BEST AP songs are by Dr. June Feldman. Dr. June does a fabulous job of teaching AP skills because her songs “build” on one another as the song progresses.
For example, in the song Mother Gooney Bird, in each stanza, the baby birds do a new task. You have to remember the stanza before to be able to sing the next stanza. All of this while singing a silly, silly song
