Each year, the South Carolina Speech and Hearing Association (SCSHA) invites Speech Language Pathologists to attend an annual conference in an effort to promote education and cultivate effective communication skills & quality treatment. This year’s SCSHA Convention, Bridging Human Connections Through Communication, will be hosted in Charleston, SC on February 2-4.

As Speech-Language Pathologists, we work daily to bridge human connections with others through communication. We help sons connect with mothers, daughters connect with fathers, and husbands connect with wives.

This conference gives us the opportunity to build bridges and connect with each other!

So, why go?

  1. It isn’t everyday you get the chance to learn about cleft-feeding, Montessori schools, how to lead effectively, and reflux dysphagia — all in the same place. Take advantage of learning from a wide variety of SLPs in our state. Get out of your comfort zone and explore new ideas. This is your opportunity!

  2. Visit the Vendors in the Ballroom. Stock up on pens, post-its and pocket-sized antibacterial. Meet people and enter to win prizes. Stop by the MTS Kids booth for some extra special fun prizes! Follow @mtskids on Instagram for more details!

  3. Charleston speaks for itself! Enjoy the sites, the eats and the great weather. When you’re not learning, make time to explore, shop and connect with your colleagues outside of work. You may even find the MTS crew at the nearby Tanger Outlets (at least) one night!

Take advantage of the opportunity to connect with one another, build relationships and grow as a professional — rest in the fact that your paperwork can wait until Monday.
